90th Birthday & Family Reunion - Lilac Love

90th Birthday & Family Reunion – Lilac Love

I was fortunate enough to get this job from a friend whose in-laws were having a family reunion/90th birthday party to celebrate their matriarch’s influence on all their lives.  I was so thrilled to meet the family and be a part of something so very momentous in their family history.  The only request the two sisters had for their mother was lilacs and colors that went well with lavender.  Mamoo loves, no adores, lilacs!  Needless to say, when I have such freedom in design, the ideas came flooding in!

Since the party was going to be in March (just in time for lilacs), I decided to go with a spring forest bursting in blooms… I think I hit the nail on the head! With a mix of lilacs, stock, hydrangea, hyacinth, roses, wax flower, tulips, lisianthus & ranuculus I was able to get that spring time look only Hollywood or the Discovery Channel can replicate!  To take it one more step towards the woodland feel, I got birch covered vases and then added some moss here and there to really make it feel earthy and elegant!

My friend later told me that Mamoo burst into tears of joy when she walked into the room and saw the flowers… I hate to say thank you for tears, but THANK YOU!

Enjoy this little touch of crisp spring as summer temperatures begin to rise! <3 KelleB
