I was nestled down on my holiday vacation when I got a random call from Arkansas… I was intrigued so I answered.  Boy am I so glad that I did! It was the lovely Miss Nancy from Arkansas who explained that she would be getting married in Lubbock, TX to her beau, Jeffrey, who was a military man stationed in New Mexico.

What?!?!?! How romantic! They would often rendezvous in Lubbock because it was a halfway point for them both.  They would be eloping because Jeffrey he would be deployed soon!  They were to say their “I DOs” at the Lubbock County Courthouse soon and she loved my work, and would I consider doing her bridal bouquet and a boutonniere for him??? YES, OF COURSE I WOULD!

Nancy wanted something in creams and sent me a picture of some lovely vintage combs that she would be wearing in her hair as some inspiration for me. She wanted to go retro with it and I was happy to oblige!

When I asked Nancy who would be taking the photos, she told me Kristin Bednarz (Kristin+Camera) who has done thoughtful and amazing work over the years and I knew this would be right up her romantic alley!! Kristin was kind enough to share her beautiful pictures of their happy union! Thanks lady for making my work look so pretty! (Photos with the Kristin+Camera stamp were contributed by the photographer.)

It was an honor to share in Nancy & Jeffrey’s touching and simple union on that cloudy chilly day in January in Lubbock and I’m so glad I answered her phone call! Hope you enjoy this sweet story! I’m thrilled I was a small part of their sweet love story!

Love,

Kelle B

I had this lovely vintage inspired broach laying around my studio for YEARS… obviously it was waiting for the right bride! I added some seed pearls (very retro) to match the ones highlighted in the bridal bouquet.

Blue hydrangea, tulips, spray roses, alstromeria lilies, & rice flower makes up this pretty winter bouquet. Accents of gold leaves and pearl seeds take this bouquet back in time to the 1950s!
