Summertime Tropic Inspired Wedding in West Texas | Wedding Flowers by Kelle B
I thought that since summer is finally here, I would share with you this lush wedding I designed last year. It was one of the largest and most prestigious weddings I had ever done and although I was a tad nervous, I had a great team helping me and we made magic happen. Sadly, I was SO wrapped up in all the details, that I totally forgot to take photos of the bridal party flowers and the ceremony flowers!!! However, I’m happy to share the photos I did manage to shoot just before we left the reception area!
The wedding reception was located at the beautiful and stately McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center! The staff and management is so wonderful and accommodating and they really put up with me and all my flowers during set up! The cakes were crafted by DomestiCakes, my fave!
Sometimes I have to beg brides to use certain flowers that they have misgivings about but that I know would be amazing! One of those flowers is gladiolas; they are a gorgeous and come in about a million colors and are quite cost effective! When this bride said they were her favorite flower, I was thrilled to get to work with them and get the most out of this versatile flower!
This more modern summer wedding had a tropic flair in the flower and color selections and therefor the gladiola was really able to be highlighted beautifully. We also used antique hydrangeas, roses, bells of Ireland, Asiatic lilies, hanging amaranthus, stock, and a miscellaneous assortment of greenery.
Hope you are all having a beautiful start to your summer! Enjoy!
