Winter Wedding

Winter Wedding

This was my last wedding of 2009! It was at the beginning of December and the girl who was getting married, Melissa, works with her Aunt Linda Kay from CAKE in Lubbock. When we sat down for our final meeting before the wedding, that lovely bride brought me a sample of their famous chocolate cupcakes! They were heavenly as was the wedding!

Here are some of the pictures of the flowers. I had so much fun taking photos of these flowers because of this great architectural detail just outside the door of the reception hall at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church here in Lubbock. Note the gorgeous stained glass windows in the hall!

Because the wedding was in the winter, the bride wanted to use a collection of white flowers with accents of pale blue and silver! We used: Asiatic lilies, Stars of Bethlehem, mini calla lilies, stock, lisianthus, roses, freesia, and queen anne’s lace… and that was just in the brides bouquet!!

Can you tell I LOVED the groom’s boutonniere??? ha, ha…

Maid of Honor’s Bouquet: Lisianthus

Bridesmaid Bouquet: Roses & Spray Roses

At the reception, the bride and her family prepared clear glass vases with “winterized” branches in them. So, all I had to do when I got there was put the baby’s breath in the vase and wire on some little posies made from spray roses and galax leaves nestled in the branches.
